The EA-6B Prowler was the Navy and Marine Corps’ premier electronic warfare aircraft. Derived from the A-6 Intruder, its core mission was to jam enemy radars and communications, collect electronic intelligence, and occasionally strike radar sites with anti-radiation missiles—shielding strike packages, ships, and ground forces. Flying with a four-person crew and specialized jamming pods, it served as an electronic umbrella from Vietnam through the Global War on Terror until the EA-18G Growler took its place.
