The Silver Spur neighborhood west of downtown Steamboat Springs has an excellent walking trail around the community. On cold winter mornings it is common to experience faery-like frost in the air and on the trees. Sun Dogs, a natural phenomenon where a crisp rainbow halo circles the sun, are commonly seen on very cold mornings.
